photo and art making enthusiasts that is growing with the availability of

About digital art.
At a time when art made with digital media is everywhere, the discourse for
describing it’s qualities has yet to be firmly established. The evolution
and history of new media art is a continuous evolving process.
What is less discussed about digital art, is the description of the moment
of creation in terms of tools and skills. Does scanning a drawing and
digitally painting on the scanned drawing makes it a digital work?
The argument is highly controversial depending who is involved, but this is
a good example of how difficult it is to decide if a work can be defined as
'digital art'.
Depending on the cultural background of the individual who is exposed to a
digital work as well as the form or method of delivery of the work, (on
computer screen, flat panel display, printed on paper, fabric, mineral
medium etc.), the digital work will generate a totally different emotional
reflex, from total refusal as art to deep admiration of the work.
The Float gallery project is dedicated to promote digital art as a
recognized art form. We are dedicated to take the time to help digital
artists with their digital projects, from the scanner to the the final
medium onto which the artist wants to transpose his or her digital work.
Possible medium cover a broad range of materials, from photo papers, to
synthetics, vinyl, plastic, wood, fabrics etc..
