Caressed by Light
Marsha Tudor
Employing emerging technology Marsha joins a small but steadily
growing group of artists who use flatbed scanners for direct digital
capture. With a background in fine arts, earning a degree from California
State University East Bay with a concentration in drawing in 1978,
Marsha has, in the last few years migrated to exclusively digital work.
A passion for plant material from her days as a florist drew her to horticulture,
landscape design, botany and photography. Scanner photography provided the vehicle
to bring together all these sensibilities.
It is easy to see the influence of Georgia O’Keefe in her work. Other influences
include Tiffany,
Monet,
de Chirico,
Redon, and botanical illustration. A second
generation Southern Californian, Marsha lives with her family in Claremont where
she is inspired by a very rich local plant palette.
