| Company Profile. Ybdigitals and Publishing LLc exploit in
exclusivity the software technologies developed by Yves Bodson which allow
the stitching of photographs into one single new photographic image.
Stitching photos is done since the early ages of photography. With time the
techniques became an art form and has been used to create some very valuable
art pieces.
With the advent of digital photography, stitching became more popular.
Nearly all consumer digital cameras today are provided with a software
allowing the stitching of photos. However, main stream stitching has
limitation in many aspects. Some of the key limitation in most of the
software available on the market is the number of photos that can be
stitched together, and the fact that only one row of photos can be stitched
at one time.
In addition when a series of photos covers a wide area, the difference in
brightness and lightning can be very important, and most of the applications
don't correct efficiently the optical equivalent distortion across the whole
new document generated by the stitching software.
Yves Bodson had a vision of delivering New Wide Spaces constructed from
original photos he takes and stitched together. To reach his goal of
delivering seamless very wide and tall documents, he had to write his own
stitching software in which he did integer very sophisticated mathematical
models so as to make the application able to efficiently correct optical
distortion as well as color and brightness variations.
In addition of adjusting the optical differences between each photo during
the stitching process , Yves' software can be used to insert additional
photographic materials within the new space generated. Such capability allow
to deliver totally original art works all in maintaining the original
information that was part of each source document.
From bytes to Art.
One can hardly find any answer to the question "What is computer based fine
arts?". Creative arts that use the computer as its media is used in various
other branches of art, such as music, movie making, video etc. In any case,
computer is used as a tool for creation - instead of brush one uses a mouse
which on its turn activate a virtual brush.
Herbert W. Franke a precursor of computer art, touched this subject in this
question: "Is the image created using computer really an art?"
In some tasks, computer is more suitable than traditional artistic tools. An
example of such task is filtering and geometrical transformation of an
image. It could be expected, that some time in the future the expression
"Computer Art" will take on new dimensions and meanings, but as we consider
that 'technology' in the present is not a key element to reach the status of
'Art' but that the human is and hopefully will keep being for a long time to
come.
Simply as oil painting has always been done on paper or cloth using brush
and colors, computers can act as a filter that when applied to a photograph
can create the illusion of a painting effect for example. With computer we
have to keep in mind the total opposition between virtual and physical. Any
visual effect applied to an image by the means of a computer has to be
considered as a 'virtual' image. That means that at any time the effect can
be removed, changed or cancelled and the image returned to its initial
state, unaffected. In addition a more important consideration has to be that
the existence of an image is bound to the computer where it was 'created'.
From there, the transformation of a 'virtual' image into a collectible
artwork relies on the usage of additional technologies that will transpose a
digital entity into a physical object.
Ybdigitals & Publishing LLc is a company where virtual art generated in
computer happens to be transposed onto and into physical objects that can be
identified as original and unique artwork by any art expert and or
professional concerned with the existence and valuation of the art object
(investor, insurer, financiers etc.)
The transposition of an artwork from computer to physical medium can be a
complex task particularly when dimension is involved. The transposition of
very large digital artwork can be a challenge to the artist. This is where a
close collaboration between Ybdigitals & Publishing LLc, the artists,
printing industries, and material manufacturers are key in the successful
delivery of collectible artworks.
Ybdigitals & Publishing LLc has acquired the experience of transposing
digital imagery onto a variety of mediums and is constantly looking to
expand the collection of materials that can be used as canvas for digital
art pieces.
Since recently we have seen the emergence of the usage of very large digital
display as digital canvas to support the materialization of digital artworks
into final art piece compatible with collection requirements. We are working
on developing the integration of two and three dimensions digital artworks
as well as animated three dimensional objects onto large digital display
panels used as canvas. YB Digital & Publishing LLC is working on preparing
the opening of a first showroom proposing to the market a collection of
digital artworks framed in digital flat panel displays at the end of the
year 2003 in Las Vegas.
Ybdigitals & Publishing LLc innovate in many aspects of the arts and visual
industries by merging together virtual and physical.
